Melbourne Museum of Printing
Jim Antonopoulos | 19.05.2009
On Sunday 17th of May a small group of us went to the ‘Save the Melbourne Museum of Printing’ in my home town of Footscray. The experience of listening to a veteran of a bygone age talk about his craft coupled with a sweltering hundred-strong crowd meant we left completely inspired by all things hand-made.
Walking through the crowd with my trusty Nikon in hand was so much fun. Hope you enjoy the set on Flickr.

TEDx Melbourne
Jim Antonopoulos | 7.01.2009
Readers of this blog all know my obsession with this very inspirational organisation called TED and will not be surprised that I’m excited about attending the Melbourne TEDx event on January 17th.
TEDx Melbourne will showcase a series of the best TED talks at Monash University on Saturday January 17th from 10am – 7pm as well as have a host of local speakers and open forum discussion after some speeches. It’s as close as we’ll [ever?] come to attending the real deal. Attendees are encouraged to request their favourite talks through a Facebook app.
The event is being organised via Facebook and it looks like it’s going to be a near full house already!
I’m looking forward to it and hope to see a huge following for this great organisation attend this event.
Details on how to get there are here.

Migrant stories
Jim Antonopoulos | 17.12.2008
The migrant story is very close to my heart and seeing this wonderful piece on The Age website today reaffirms to me how important these stories are to Australia’s telling of its history.
Put together by a team from The Age and the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) this digital experience is one to savour.

AGDA Christmas Party
Jim Antonopoulos | 4.12.2008
Last night’s AGDA Christmas party was fantastic – drinking from recycled Vegemite jars and beer bottles has never been so much fun.
